Hello,
I have done a bit of video editing but I am new to Roxio's Easy Media Creator. I have version 9 (deluxe).
Anyway, my video is importing choppy. I am importing from a sony digital 8 camera through my USB port. Is USB too slow of a port for importing video? Any help?
Thanks in advance.
Peace,
c

Using a Firewire (1394) port will yield the best results, however… Not all camcorders these days have such a port.
If your camcorder does and you have a Firewire card on your PC, it would be worth a try.
Likewise it would also be better if you capture to a DV Video format. The files are larger but since your PC does not have to do any extensive compression during capture there is less chance for dropped frames.
You did not list your PC specs so we can only assume you have a PC that meets the minimum specs.

Hello,Anyway, my video is importing choppy. I am importing from a sony digital 8 camera through my USB port.
I have the Sony TRV740 8mm digital camcorder. As far as I know, teh USB is for transferring still images and connecting the camcorder as a 'webcam' (streaming 320X240 only). When connected by USB, there is no sound because they assume you will use a microphone with the webcam.Look for the iLink connector. See below. That is what Sony calls firewire (1394). You will need to purchase a cable. Most computers sold in the past few years all have firewire. If you have an older computer, you may need to purchase a firewire card.
