OK will try,, this is NOT an 8088, nor a chicklets system.. The Processor is a Celoren "D" 360 with 1.5 GB on motherboard, no drive "A" just C, with a DVD drive with Lightscribe, DVD and RW on the drive door, this was a shelf take off at Circuit City.... I am really7 sorry about maybe not explaining about this problem but the only thing I ever,,, in 23 years with a CD drive was listen, load and maybe back up some pictures once in a while.. So be gental with his old buzzard..
I wanted to make a cd with 528 pictures on it, for a back up. but after I clicked on the Roxio button, up poped Roxio Creator 9, I get to choose which function I wanted, which I picked a PHOTOS, and a window opens telling me I can upgrade, and one selection which is make s SLIDE SHOW, then in small print ist says,, create amazing photo slideshows, then save as a video file or a DVD. NOTHING else so I click on this one.
I then get a new window which is called "Slideshow Assistant" and I can now add photos and audio. as I go through and select 528 photos, I then tell it to BURN and it say's put the disc in, which I do making sure the label side is UP, and it takes off and sure looks like it is doing the job of burning,, a good 30 minutes later the drive pops open and a small window asks me if I want to burn another, I say no and flip disk over and burn the label..
When I take the disc to wife system, it say's it is blank, I put it in mine and same thing happens..
I really do not worry about the 3 discs down the drain, I am frusterated that the DVD that came with this system, software that came with this system ,,, does NOT WORK... , being an "off the shelf" system I got NO discs,, like restore, no papers except a receipt, nothing,, NADA, zip,,, my choice is to get it working,,, like no Java came with the home edition, like Windows 95, Mill, Windows 98, Windows XP,, now Gates takes it out and none of the websites I have created over the years work correctly,, according to this machine,,, had to go out and get Java and load it, Mr. Gates is getting cheap in his old age,,, maybe I can sell him the ORIGIONAL disk he gave me to Beta Windows 95,,, back in January 1995 and then donate the buck back to him so he get's the OS correct before down grading it!!! Oh well...
I hope this helps
(I'll give it a try James)
Hey Mushroom---I suspect that you might not have the correct drivers for the LightScribe burner you have. Just because it's new and on a new computer does not necessarily mean that it has all the up to date firmware and drivers.
It would help a great deal if you gave us some information regarding the make and model of your computer and the make, model, driver and firmware of the LightScribe burner. Also, not only the EMC version you gave us but the program you are using to do the burn and what type of burn it is. (Creator Classic, data etc.). Have you tried other makes of media to see if that's the problem ?? Like trying a media that is NOT Lightscribe just to see if it burns O.K. I have a LightScribe burner on my HP laptop and it not only burns LightScribe type media but all other types as well. Well, everything except "Memorex". I wouldn't give you 2 cents for a thousand of them.
