Flashing Dvd Drive - Does Toast Recognize?

Has anyone flashed the firmware of their G5's DVD drive, changing a Pioneer DVR-117 to DVR-108?

According to http://forums.dealmac.com/click.php?253360...R-117guide.html
it not only speeds the drive, but makes it !!DUAL LAYER!! as well.

Has anyone done this, and if so, does their Toast recognize the drive?

You might check if there are user reports on this on the Drive Compatibility Database at www.xlr8yourmac.com
