I have a couple of .MKV files and Roxio doesn't seem to recognize them as a valid video format. I can open and play them with Windows Media Player so I know it's not a codec issue. In MyDVD they don't even show up when I click "Add new movie" and select the folder they're in.

I'm trying to burn them to a DVD but this is a bit of a roadblock.

Anyone have any ideas? Does Roxio support MKV files?

TIA - R.

This is always a problem when using obscure file types…

No, Videowave/myDVD do not support this file format. You will have to convert it to something that is like MPEG 2.

Thanks for the help - I'd thought the MKV files were unsupported. In the end I bought WinAVI Video Converter, used it to convert to AVI files and Roxio recognizes them. For some reason the somewhat cheaper MKVtoAVI coverter just didn't work - it would read the MKV files, but failed on the conversion. Still working on getting the burn process working with myDVD but that's another issue.

Thanks again - R.
