With the older versions, saving and printing artist information for each track was a no brainer. I can't seem to do this with version 8 and 9 though. How do I go about it, if it's possible.

It isn't. You have to make it part of the title.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
