]I HAVE ROXIO EMC9 INSTALLED ON BOTH MY PC AND LAPTOP. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE LAPTOP BUT AM UNABLE TO IMPORT FROM A DVD ON MY PC. THE DRIVE IS RECOGNISED IN THE DROP DOWN WINDOW BUT NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN IT IS SELECTED.
THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE DVD IS COMMERCIALLY PRODUCED,RECORDED FROM TV, OR A HOME PRODUCED MOVIE.
HELP APPRECIATED FROM YOU EXPERTS !

First, if you don't have a reading impairment, please knock of the caps.

The software will not copy commercial movies, because it is illegal to do so.  For all other DVD's, copy them to the hard drive.  There is no need to try to capture them.  Make sure the DVD's are finalized.

You can then bring the .vob files into VideoWave for editing, if that is what you want to do.  You didn't mention what you were trying to achieve.

thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
i am sure there are other ways of doing this, but i am intrigued as to why the lap top is ok -although as you said not with commercially produced dvd's -  but not my pc !
