I tried to install Version 7 while 8 is still on the computer. I  understand that the Drag and Drop could possibly cause problems if it was installed with both versions on the computer. I tried to put Ver.7 on but there drag and drop are not listed in the Custom Setup. How can I eleminate this from the installation.

Thanks for any ideas.

I believe if you are installing version 8 over version 7 it wil over write the Drag to Disc componet. Other componets will be left unchanged.

Jim, that is not what the poster indicated he wanted to do.

If I remember correctly, there is an option to not install D2D if you use the custom install.  It has been awhile so I don't remember exactly where it is.  You probably don't need to do this but .... You may also want to try to run a add remove programs/ change on V8 to remove D2D and then run the install of V7. As I said, probably overkill. :)
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Thanks, I found it in the programs/change and hopefully that will work. The custom install does not contain the D2D, there is Video Wave, DVD Builder, Photo Suite, Creator Classic, Sound Editor, Napster, Audio Tools, DVD infor Pro, Disk Image Loader and Shared Utilities. Would it be in any of these?

Thanks again

Try under the Shared Utilities. If not in there, look inside each one. It IS in there as an option that you can select to not install.
