I am having a problem I haven't seen addressed on this board. If it has and someone can direct me to it, I would appreciate it, and I apologize for posting a second time. I have been trying to install EMC9 since Friday. In the beginning, it would install up to a point then the computer would freeze.

Contacted support and they sent me the clean install directions which I followed and at this time can find no traces of Roxio or Sonic files. Tried installing (typical setting) from direct download, saved to desktop, and saved to disc. All three times, all files extracted and installation completed (instantly). However, there is nothing installed on my computer!! No error reports, files, icons...

I have contacted support again, but will have to wait until tomorrow to hear back. This is very frustrating, and unless someone knows a fix for this problem, I'm ready to get a refund. I have HP Pavilion, Windows XP Home Edition 2002, Service Pack 2, 768 MB Ram, 38.1 GB with 13.8 Free, Pentium III 650 MHz.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Your computer is very low spec for this suite - altho the minimum requirements are 500 MHz P3, that is ONLY for audio CDs - the spec for anything else is 1.4 GHz P4

From here

• For burning music and data discs: 500 MHz Intel® Pentium III or equivalent; 128 MB RAM
• For DVD, slideshow or video authoring: 1.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent; 256 MB RAM
• For real-time MPEG-2 capture and burning:1.6 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent; 256 MB RAM

Also, a good graphics system is needed for any video work.

Yeah, me too! I have found that Roxio sucks at installing software!!!! IF you can ever get the program installed and registered, which may only take a year or two, the programs aren't bad.

Perhaps Grant you think he should also be able to run Vista on that spec - please READ posts before commenting

I'm getting the exact same problem. I'm running on a high-spec computer so I don't think the original poster's spec is the problem. I'm running 64 bit Vista Ultimate on a core 2 duo extreme 2 x 2.93GHz with 4GB RAM.

I have contacted Roxio support and will post back here if they are able to offer any solution.

I started the following thread regarding how I installed EMC9 Suite on Vista 64 bit Home Premium. I have had no trouble at all.

Well add another person with the exact same problem. I install the software which completes EXTREMELY fast BTW and there are no errors at all. However there is NOTHING on my PC even slightly resembling EMC9 after installation completes.

No I dont have a low spec PC in fact it is very high spec. I am running XP Pro and not Vista so maybe that is the problem. I dont know why I gave these guys another chance but the price and features seemed too good to pass up. I guess they were just too good to be true.

One other note I had Nero 7 which I uninstalled first before installing EMC9.
