ok...long story short...i got a virus afew weeks ago...which ruined my emc9 program...mcaffe killed the virus...but ever since roxio tries to install several time when the computer starts up...i have followed the cleanuninstal/install instructions several times...used regseeker...deleted hundreds of files with roxio in title and none of it make a bit of difference...as soon as i start up its the same thing...when i try to instal my disc...everything looks good...installs for awhile then about 3/4 of the way through a message pops up simply saying please insert disc and hit ok...if i eject disc and re-insert and hit ok...same box re-appears...leave it in and hit ok...the box re-appears...if i hit cancel it cancels the whole installation.
im ready to smash my computer and start a nationwide anti roxio campaign....please help...i have wasted TONS of time trying to fix this and have not seen anything like my please insert disc problem on this board...
thanks in advance and please hurry...im getting old

Turn off Mcaffe when you install EMC 9.

That's what you are being told - the standard advice on all installation routines is to turn OFF any running programs
This includes anti-virus and messengers
You will have to go through the uninstall/clean install - with any running program well and truly OFF

Mine works. I tried to give you a tip on how to try to get it up and running, but I am not standing over your shoulder to see what you may have running at startup on your computer, so sorry I couldn't help.
BTW, you sure as hell aren't going to see a multitude of posts from folks who aren't having problems with the program. Forums are for folks who aren't having success installing.
What are your computer specs? What shows in your tray when you boot up your computer? All may not be lost.

Actually, if you'd read through the boards you'd have seen that suggestion of copying over to the hard drive (and also extracting the downloaded self-installing archive) and then running setup.exe from there quite a number of times.
