Hello!

I've subscribed to forums after months of coping with Roxio support - to no effect- but I see my problems have been already discussed and no good solutions are avaliable sad.gif

Is it possible that Roxio has some serious troubles (financial or other), which make for the delay and threaten EMC future? I mean, there's no use to wait for solution if there's good chance it will never come (and one should find applications by another vendors)???

I wouldn't know about the money side of Roxio at all but do you think they'd actually post that information for everyone to see?  How often do you get to see the P&L of any company?
No, its very doubtful they are in any trouble at all except the problem of making sure they get the update right whether we like it or not.

That's entirely your call, but there may be something unique to your problem(s) that prompts a different response than you've read elsewhere.

As a publically traded company on NASDAQ, they have to make their financial information available. Form 10-Q, Quarterly Financials, is filed each quarter and contains a condensed fincial picture of the company. The last one was filed 11/8/2006 for the period ending Sep 30, 2006. See below for why there is none for 3Q2006 and later (note fiscal quarters, not calendar quarters, Sonic fiscal year ends Mar 30)

In the AP article "Sonic Gets Nasdaq Notification", the following information appears "...Sonic Solutions on Tuesday said it received an additional notice of noncompliance from the Nasdaq Stock Market because of its failure to timely file its annual report for the 2007 fiscal year...." and "...Sonic previously received notices of noncompliance from the Nasdaq for failing to file its fiscal third-quarter report and for failing to solicit proxies and hold an annual meeting for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006...."

Your statement/question - not sure what it is - is not clear, but the non-complaince notices occur frequently if that is what you are asking. Beerman had said financial information not available to the public, just trying to clarify this, that they are in indeed available to the public, the latest one being for 2Q2006 filed 11/8/2006. Later ones are being delayed because of having to re-state due to something involving stock options, did not read article close. Also from PR Newswire News article dated August 7, 2007, "Sonic Solutions to Report Preliminary Fiscal 2008 First Quarter Financial Results" the following was stated "... SNIC today announced that it will report preliminary results for its fiscal 2008 first quarter for the period ended June 30, 2007, on Thursday, August 23, 2007. The financial results will be released after the close of market on Thursday, August 23, 2007, via press release...."

I hope this clarifies whatever you were asking.

Really, I was making a joke.  I was basically saying that there is no doubt  that Roxio isn't the only company that received a notice of non-compliance, and I sure the hell don't understand how it is germane to the problems being discussed in the forums.

I don't think it's financial. Tom at Roxio just release a "Press Statement" on the forums that the EMC9.0 patch failed beta testing.

If Roxio is having financial problems, then there may have been a reduction in work force.  That might explain the big delays in getting a quality patch developed.  It's only speculation but I have seen it before.

Let's not go starting rumors now.  Tom has tried his best to keep us up to date and if he says it didn't muster up to put out, then let's take him at his word.

Not sure how the response I provide is not germane to the question that was asked and a response that had been provided with seemingly incorrect information or is less germane than Beerman's response that you did not make any comment about. I looked at the last available statement and formed my own opinion, however I did not feel it was my place to analyze the last available statement for others. I simply provide A_T, or anyone else, the resource that provided the requested information. Anyone can find the last statement via Google or from their brokerage firm if they wanted to look at it.

As I stated earlier, I was only trying to clarify an answer that was not quite correct to the question that had been asked. It appears that you had some other agenda or unfortunately took offense to the clarification for some unknown reason.

Edit by who: I agree with you in principle that this probably not really the right place for this type of dialog, but since others had chosen to respond to the original post, I saw no valid reason preventing me from adding my comment also.
