Did you go through the pinned post at the top of this Topic???

It works for 99% of the users who actually encounter an activation problem. The other 1% need to call support and work through it.

No, I had not.  First time on this forum.  I will look for it now.
Thanks

I just looked at the pinned post.  That was what support told me to do.  Does not work.  There is no orange product key.  It is blank.

If you don't have a product key there is not much we (fellow users) can do.

"Manual Activation Instructions:

If this fails, then you have to option to manually activate your product, but still requires a connection to the internet.

1) Close Easy Media Creator 9.
2) Disconnect your computer from the internet. The easiest way is to turn off your modem or disconnect the cable from the back of your computer.
3) Re-launch Easy Media Creator 9 and the application that needs to be activated.
4) Activation will fail, but this time, choose to Activate Offline.
5) In the Offline Product Activation window, copy the product 25 Digit product key listed in orange. Do not close this window.
6) Turn on your modem or reconnect to the internet.
7) Go to http://activation.roxio.com/activateme and follow the on-screen instructions. This will generate an Activation Code that you must copy.
8) Go back to the Offline Product Activation window and enter the Activation Code into the boxes."

# 3,4,and 5 above, please.

He said  "There is no orange product key. It is blank."

Could this be another flaw or bug in his installed program?

JoeP,

I would suggest you call customer support.

The user was told that in post #2. All I was saying there is nothing his fellow users can do.

You seem pretty knowledgeable.  I followed that procedure and never saw the activation window.  Am I an idiot or is this just way more complicated than it needs to be?

Hi I am having the same problems with my Activate mpeg-2 codec. I have been through the post to activate offline manually and done everything that it says to. I put in my orange key and it returned an error ERR_ACTIVATE_INVALID_PK. This is really annoying. I was using this program no problems until now. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Your second thought is correct. This is way more complicated than it should be. It would be understandable if this happened randomly, but users post here nearly everyday with this problem. I had to register manually myself. I would expect this to be resolved when the patch arrives.
Easy Media Creator...so much for truth in advertising.
