I have recently upgraded to EMC V. 8. It took 4 hours to encode a slideshow in Videowave for a 1.14 G. show. I have made numerous shows in V. 7 and have never encountered that before. Can anyone give me some idea why the long time.

What size processor do you have in your computer? Encoding is CPU intensive.

My processor is AMD Athelon 1100 MHZ with 512 ram

It appears that you have an older processor and it take more time w/ a slower older processor as indicated earlier by grandpabruce

Also EMC8 is much more demanding on the video subsystem.
