I have a Dell TVT3 Emuzed Angel dual tv tuner which came with Sonic MyDVD LE.
It supports analog video capture.
I purchased EMC8 (not from Dell, but they do sell it)
I find that the MyDVD that comes with EMC8 does not support the card but MyDVD LE does.
Should I expect to see EMC released with my card supported in the future?

Maybe… MyDVD from Sonic and MyDVD from Roxio are two completely unrelated programs!
But capture from Tuner cards has proven to be hit or miss.

OEMs like DELL usually alter the program to work specifically with the card it has installed. It's impossible to support all the analog captures devices. Some are very propietary and even use patented hardware.
Phenom X4 965 3.4Ghz, 4gig DDR3, LG 47" 3D TV, Hitachi 1TB HD, Seagate 500GB, LiteOn iHBS112 Bluray, TSSTCorp SH-222A DVD, ATI HD3300 IGP, VIA HiDef audio with Logitech Z5500 THX certified 5.1 speakers, Epson 4490 scanner, Canon 9000Pro MarkII printer, Sharp AL1551CS laser printer/copier, Sony TRV740 8mm digital, Canon HV20 HDV camcorder and Fuji S7000 for still photos, Win7 Home Premium
---------
System 2: HP DV7 laptop, Turion II Dual Core 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 640GB hard drive, ATI Mobility HD4650, ATI HiDef Audio, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

I understand that, but since they support it in MyDVD LE, why wouldn't they support it in EMC8 MyDVD?

They as in DELL? Also MyDVD v6 and earlier were written by Sonic. MyDVD 8 was developed by Roxio and is based on their previous product (DVD BUilder)

That's a question you need to ask Dell or Sonic/Roxio. It is quite likely that the version of MyDVD LE you got from Dell was written specifically to work with that device only when distributed with the device from Dell.
