That's quite the interesting post after all the rest I've been reading.  I'll try your installation next time.  As it is, I just installed everything the old way, they seem to be working, I uninstalled the Activation module and the Sonic Decoder pack cause they give me all sorts of problems.

BTW, does your activation work with this install?  If it is, I'll give it a try.  With the usual install, my automatic activation doesn't work and the manual doesn't give me the Product Key, it's blank.  So I uninstalled the module and the decoder pack.  Videoware starts normally, althought I haven't tested the apps without those modules.

Yes, the MPEG-2 one.  The registration goes well, but the activation doesn't work.  Other people have the same error, with the manual procedure not yielding the Product key.  HOWEVER, if I cancel the activation, Videoware still opens normally, while it said it should be closing.  And there appears to be SOME sort of deep registry settings.  Every time I want to reinstall EMC 9.1, even when I follow the clean install procedure, I get a message saying that some previous versions need to be uninstalled, yet it reports the recent ones.  So I take it there are hidden registry settings, probably in the WOW64 section, since I'm using x64 and maybe that's the main problem with Vista x64 and Roxio.

Well, it seems to be working even with Decoder pack and Activation module uninstalled.  I'll try it once I have time, maybe during the weekend.

Before going any further, this thread is only for individuals who have EMC9 on a Vista system (or are attempting to do so.) If you do not have Vista and EMC9, and do not have a question or input for installing EMC9 on Vista, please leave this thread. This includes everyone from beginner to guru.

Does your post cover Vista 32 bit, Vista 64 bit, or both?

Just to add some fuel to the fire, I have EMC 9.1 rev c running on VISTA Home Premium with D2D active and I didn't have to do any of the above procedures to get a good install.   smile.gif  But then I installed EMC 9 on a clean install of VISTA.  The EMC 9 suit is huge and I don't use every program that was installed so there may or may not be problems lurking.

FYI, we will be releasing the 9.1 update in the next several week so that should help out a little as well.
