I was told by others that they prefer one DVD over the other. I burned a production on a DVD-R and it played fine on my DVD player and PC but then I did another production on a DVD+R and it will play on my PC but not on my DVD player. I read my info on my player and it mentions only DVD-R. Why would a player not accept both +and -. This is crazy. How can you take your DVD with you to show anyone and their player won't accept the DVD. Is there a way that I can format or do anything to these so that I don't have this problem.
Another thing is there a way that I can dulicate my background audio so that it last throught the whole production. I can loop a single song but I can't duplicate or loop songs if there are more than one.
Is there a feature that I have not found yet.

Some older players don't accept +R media. If you want to relatively sure a DVD will play in someone else's player, burn one in +R and one in -R, and take them with you.

There is no real answer beyond what gpb suggest, try both.

If it is a Liteon drive, Liteon provide a utility to change the book type from DVD+R or DVD +RW to DVD ROM for some of their drives.
Lite-On BookType software utility
DVD Compatibility and Book types
Introduction
1.1 What is a DVD Recording book type?
It is a writing mode of a DVD+RW disc or a DVD+R disc. For example,
DVD+RW disc can be recorded as +RW type or ROM type, while
DVD+R disc can be written as +R or ROM type.
1.2 Why do I have to change the book type?
Not every DVD-ROM or DVD player can read DVD+RW or DVD+R
discs, so you can change the book type or setting to enhance the
reading compatibility of the media. This enables your DVD-ROM or
DVD player to read DVD discs with content recorded on them.
1.3 What are the limitations when I use this tool?
1. Only DVD+RW discs can “Change” the Book type after recording.
2. DVD+R discs cannot change the Book type after recording., The
Book type must be set prior to recording the DVD+R disc on your
DVD ReWritable drive.
3. This tool only used for LITEON drives (specific models only). Not all
of the LITEON DVD ReWritable drives support this BookType utility.

I haven't tried it though.
PS I don't know whether other manufacturers provide a similar utility for their drives.
