I had a problem with a Runtime Error! message (Visual C++) which I couldn't resolve, so I uninstalled EMC 7. I just re-installed it and now can use Roxio again (burning CD's, etc.), but it has made my Hotmail account very slow to respond, and my wife can't use her e-mails at all (Hotmail, Gmail, Outlook, Juneau, etc.). Does anyone know why this would be happening?

There could be an extraneous problem (what caused EMC7 to suddenly develop the error in the first place)
Did you install Internet Explorer 7 and/or Media Player 11 by any chance?
When did you last do a sweep for malware/spyware? Try Adaware SE and/or Spybot S&D (both free for personal use)

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
