We recently purchased an upgrade of Easy Media Creator 9 and are upgrading from version 8. The install did not automatically upgrade the previous version, instead, it left trails of 8 and 9 versions and none of the programs worked at all. So I un-installed all versions of 8 and deleted the program files folder locations of Roxio and then cleaned the registry, as per the clean up instructions. So at this point the machine has no more traces of Roxio. Then after reboot, I execute the version 9 install and everything runs smoothly, then the install is complete and I am asked to reboot the machine. After reboot there are no icons from Roxio and also in the programs list. Even if I go to the add or remove programs list, there is no trace of Roxio. I have tried re-installing and cleaning, like 6 times, with no result.
I am running Windows XP Professional SP2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there are no programs in the add/remove list then either the program really did not install or it's very messed up. Can you find Roxio folders in the Programs Files folder?

Hi Paul, thanks for your reply. Thats the strange thing. I find roxio in the program files directory and it has various sub folders for all the add-on applications in the EMC Suite, but it seems like the folders are all empty. They are maybe 1 or 2 dll files, but not one *.exe file. Everytime I did the clean un-install, I deleted these folders too and did a registry clean up too.

There are some hidden folders you may have missed - go to documents and settings, <username> and in the menu bar at the top, go to tools, folder options and click on 'View' - tick 'show hidden files and folders'
Then go to Application Data and remove any Sonic or Roxio folders from there

I have a similar problem. Everything installs fine with no errors but it does so really fast so you knwo somethings wrong. After installation completes and it shows you the readme file there is nothing installed.
There are a couple of folders in the Roxio folder but with just a few files. Im on XP Pro not Vista.

I have about the same problem. I have installed Roxio 8 ecm. My PC use windows XP home or PRO, ddram 768, 333 mhz, pentium 4 AMD, panda antivirus, Service pack SP2 installed. During the installation wizard, the roxio 9 about at 3/4, stop installation and suddenly roll back, cancelling any tracks of roxio 8, icons at desktop and program. I look in ad/remove but i don't find any roxio 9 program and roxio 8 too.
Thank for your help.

You keep bouncing from the 9 version, back to the 8 version, back to the 9 version, back to the 8 version. Just what version do you have?
Turn of Panda when installing the software, along with any Internet security program.
