Making a simple slide show for DVD; about 650 images. I added a sound track and then matched the presentation to the track time...Big mistake! The size ballooned to 1000megs over capacity.

Now trying to delete some images to trim it takes FOREVER. I attempted to delete the soundtrack? WTF, the instructions DO NOT match reality. Right clicking on the title slide brings up a menu, but no "Remove Audio" is on it.

Can someone help me salvage all that work? mad.gif

What program are you using? Size means nothing. It is the length of time that controls. You can get 1 hour of video on 1 standard DVD, at high quality. How long is your production?

Running Media Creator 7.5 on WinXP Pro SR2. Production under DVD Builder. I had about 650 PICs set to 4 sec which was about 50 minutes? SoundTrack was 55 minutes long (about 12 jazz tracks converted to *.mp3 files and merged into one big file).

The "yellow line" at the bottom of the production window showed about 650megs free with all of this loaded. Then I ran the "Advanced" option which takes the DVD content and passes it to StoryBoard. That is where I asked it to sync the audio file to the PICs so the display timing would match-up. When I closed that window and asked for a save, it transferred back to DVD Builder and I got a big fat red line with negative (- 985megs) in the "yellow line" area. The editing functions slowed to a crawl! To delete a single image took about 3 minutes. Naturally, I did not save pre- post- tinkering versions. blink.gif

Logically, it seems to me that if I remove the soundtrack, I can do some editing and then shorten it ant add it back...no?

Anywho, the program help file is ABSOLUTELY incorrect about removing audio!

Just a suggestion. Don't use DVD Builder to create your production. Use VideoWave. It is the program that was designed for creating and editing your production.

MyDVD was designed for authoring and burning your production.

Removing a sound track is easy, depending on where you put it. On the audio track, in Timeline view, highlight the audio clip, and delete it.

So the proper sequence would be:
1) Run VideoWave and design the presentation.
2) Instruct it to "burn" and it will pass to DVD Builder and finalize the disc.

Who knew? Frankly, after all that trouble with IE 7, I never really developed much trust in this system.

You do know that VideoWave doesn't "see" the DVD saved file format, eh?

I don't have the patience to start over, if I load my file into DVD Builder, run VideoWave and then pass it back will it work? ohmy.gif

Since you've already built the production in DVD Builder, I'd suggest that you use the following instructions to take the production into VideoWave
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=9277

If you're using Advanced Edit in DVD Builder, that opens StoryBoard which is a version of VideoWave, but is notorious for causing slow editing and freezing.

Once you've got the production into VideoWave, switch to the Timeline View and see what is on the audio track and let us know if you need further help.

Thank you! Now that was some good advice.

I got it finished and burned a trial copy...the #$^@ thing still truncates my Audio file and that "Fit to Audio" fails miserably. I just tinkered with the slide timing 'til it got close and called it a day.

Good enough for Gub'mint Work, eh? tongue.gif
