Do you have the FULL retail version of EMC 9 Suite or did yours come installed on the computer?.

Sounds like the Dell version doesn't support AC3, but you should still be able to burn a DVD. Open your project and go to File/Project Settings. Make sure the audio is set for LPCM. Uses more space, but any DVD player can play it.

I'm not sure that your version of MyDVD could use it, but you could try installing the AC3 filter from

Hi..
I have the same issue:
a) Dell Laptop Inspiron E1505
b) Windows Vista Home Basic
c) EMC Ver 9 - came along with the Dell Laptop
Here is overall issue with my product:
a) Am able to create successfully dvd with regular movies
b) Created movies from my Sony Camcorder: HDR-SR200. This created movies in 5.1 dolby format. - When I try to create a DVD using these files (stored as .mpg) I get the error stating that AC3 audio is not supported in this version.
Ofcourse, when I use the Sony provided software, no complaints. Except that its too simple, and doesnot solve most of my needs. Roxio is better - but for this issue (which prevents me from using this s/w).
Please let me know if you need more details.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Oh b.t.w, I installed (and rebooted after that), the ac3 filter, but the problem persists! Tried changing the project settings to use LPCM, but no luck!!
Thanks!

Ok- I'm having the same issue. I have the same software for my video camera as well as the same program that came w/ my Dell. What did you end up doing? I want to use the Roxio for the DVD creation, I think it does more, but i want the sound as well> Not sure if I should upgrade or not? I got rid of my vista on the Dell and am using Windows XP. So...where should I go from here?

I don't believe that 5.1 is supported but the program will automatically convert to stereo. DVDit Pro does a pass through but that is a much more expensive dedicated DVD maker program.
If you tried the alternate audio format and it doesn't work, then I think the answer is obvious.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
