BUMP 7 - How do I install it?

I notice that I still have C:\Program Files\Sonic\Backup MyPC 6 directory on my PC from 2004. So, BUMP6 did not get uninstalled when EMC9 got installed. The problem is, I see no item in ControlPanel-AddRemovePrograms to remove BUMP6.
When I run Setup on the EMC9 CD, it detects an older version of BUMP and asks me if I want to remove it. I say "Yes". However, after the EMC9 is all installed, I still don't have BUMP7 (I do have Roxio BU, but that is another application.). The list of applications that the EMC9 install program lets me alter are:
Creator Classic
VideoWave and MyDVD
Disc Copier
Photosuite
RoxioBU
Label Creator
Media Import
Media Manager
Music Disk Creator
Digital Home
Sound Editor
Easy Audio Capture
Disc Image loader
XingTones
There seems to be no way to 1) remove BUMP6 2) install BUMP7 or 3) run BUMP7
What should I do?
BTW, I have Norton Ghost 10 installed on this PC. I don't know if that interferes with BUMP ...

PS: I hope Sonic manages to integrate their applications better in their next release :-(

In my case, it is Roxio Backup ver 9. How do I attach a screen-capture to this reply?

Looks like I'll have to do the same. Is there any way around a complete uninstall and re-install?
I actually like Roxio BU 9. Could I keep Roxio BU 9 and add BUMP 7?

Don't know what to tell you.
If you have a purchased Retail of V9, you got it! It installs whether you want it or not.
There is no option to add it, remove it or leave it out, it is installed!
There is no Sonic folder anymore. If you have one, it is a remnant.
The new one lives in Roxio\Backup MyPC\sbewin32.exe.

I do have C:\Program Files\Roxio\Backup 9 folder, created at the same date/time as the rest of the EMC9 folders.
Like the user in the other thread, for some reason, EMC9 installer could not uninstall BUMP6 from my PC and skipped BUMP7 install. It installed Roxio Backup 9 instead. I see the BUMP7 install directory on the EMC9 CD.
This is a bug in the installer.
I wonder if someone from Roxio will read this thread and verify my conjecture (and maybe tell me how to proceed..).

It doesn't install to the same place as BUMP7, which is probably why the old version wasn't uninstalled

I would like to post a screen-capture, but I don't have that privilege here.
By the way, my menu under start menu under Roxio Easy Media Creator 9\Backup\ has 2 items: Easy Archive and Roxio Backup.

I will attempt to uninstall EMC9 and reinstall (like the author of the thread http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=9611 ) and see if I am able to install Backup MyPC 7 that is on the EMC9 install disk.
Thanks for all your efforts.

Well there is defintely a "failure to communicate". In one sentence you state "I am not talking about "Backup MyPC" (any version)." and in the next sentence you state "see if I am able to install Backup MyPC 7 that is on the EMC9 install disk." In earlier post you talk about Backup MyPC 9 ... no wonder everyone is confused

For further discussion,
RB 9 = Roxio Backup 9
BUMP 7 = Backup MyPC 7
EMC 9 = Easy Media Creator Suite 9
People here think that I have BUMP 7 installed but that I am thinking that I have a different product (RB 9). They claim that BUMP 7 and RB 9 are one and the same.
That is not correct. These are different programs, with different screens and features. I can e-mail screen-shots of RB 9 to show this.
When I install EMC 9, I end up with RB 9 and I don't get BUMP 7 installed on my PC.
I have never talked about BUMP 9.
Since everyone here is unfamiliar with this situation, I have opened a tech support case. I'll let you all know if this gets resolved.

We will continue in the Installation/Uninstallation/Update thread you started, Here.
But to answer your question about RxBackup9.exe, NO. It is present in the CAB but it is not a program file in V9.
If you look at the screen cap I included in that thread, here, the shortcut for Backup MyPC is pointing to C:\Program Files\Roxio\Backup MyPC\sbewin32.exe.
I think you said so, but please confirm you purchased the Full Retail V9 Suite and we an not dealing with an OEM disc that came with your computer or one you got at some bargain price source???
James,
This is from another thread in "Burning Issues" about a problem that I was having with RB 9. That thread was closed by you because we ended up discussing the differences between RB 9 and BUMP 7 there.
The different executables clearly point out that you have BUMP 7 (sbewin32.exe) while I have RB 9 (RxBackup9.exe) on our systems. Thus, this impasse and the inability of anyone here to help me with RB 9 issues or installation issues. No one here has any experience with RB 9 !!
I have opened a tech support ticket on this.
I bought EMC 9 by mail order from Pricegrabber Storefronts. It came with 2 discs (Program and Contents) The P/N: is 150196-00EU. I can provide the TSID and the CD Key by e-mail.

Still, if the program disc is marked Creator9 Suite, it should be the full Suite.
FYI: Using Classic, Help – About, I am running Build 900B88F ENU. What's in your wallet?
Maybe some others will see what program they have installed?
If closing the other topic presents a problem for you, holler and I will happy to reopen it.

Classic Help About says: Build 900B88F ENU
A search on Pricegrabber shows EMC9 for as low as $17 !! I paid $40 for EMC9 through Pricegrabber, which is a "reputable" store-front (till now).

Although I don't need Disaster Recovery (I use Norton Ghost for that), and could get by with Roxio Backup 9, I am really angry at having been duped.
I bought the product (for $40) from

I downloaded the file you mention from the EMC9 Home. That would not install, as it kept finding an older version of BUMP on my system, and kept trying to uninstall it (unsuccessfully). I exited that process after a few attempts.
However, it gave me an idea: I have had BUMP on my system from previous installations of EMC7, 8 and possibly even Backup Exec when it was owned by Quest Software. I guessed that EMC9 installer did not uninstall BUMP 6 properly, and all subsequent attempts by it (and the updater you suggested) was choking on the remains of that previous BUMP.
So, I deleted all instances of "BUMP_" and "sbewin32" from the registry. Now the updater installed and I have Roxio Backup AND Backup MyPC 7 on my computer (and they still look very different :-) )
However, BUMP was installed to "C:\Program Files\Sonic\Backup MyPC Deluxe 7" location and has it's own group under the Start menu.
I bet this will confuse the installer/updater for EMC 10 when I upgrade to that in due course!!
Anyway, thanks to all who participated in this thread. Problem is solved.
