Hello, I am trying to customize my own menu and have follwed the tutorial video sumone posted on the website, for some reason my options are not the same, Do i need to upgrade to deluxe or something?

This is the link:
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=17162

After i remove the menu audio i right click on the menu screen and there is no option to "edit menu back round" just to change to the default ones installed in the program. Also in the bottom left of my screen theres isnt that "project view" he has.

I dont understand, that link shows how to do it but my roxio doesnt look like that, he has extra screens like the "project view" and when he right clicks he has more options...

Is your EMC 9 purchased from a store or downloaded from Roxio's site?  If not, it is an OEM version, and all programs may not work the same as the retail version.

Do you have this icon in the upper left part of the preview? If not, then you must have an OEM or cut down version like Bruce suggests.

thanks i have now purchased the full version, the previous one was free with my Dell.

Its downloading now, i was wandering does the change backround recognize a VOB file (2MB) for a new backround?

the dvd burner recognizes the other VOB files to create the main movie but doesnt seem to add the others as the menu or split it into chapters automatically....

will the full version fix all this?

VOB is a valid format for Videowave and MyDVD and you should be able to use that file format anywhere - even as a menu background.

Not sure I understand the second question.

You mean keep the chapter marks that are already on an existing DVD that you are importing? Don't know of any software that will do that.  Media Import should be able to import each chapter into separate files which would make it easier to re-create those chapter marks though.

Did you try the manual activation?  Your firewall may be part of the problem.
Of course, the activation server may be down for maintenance.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
