I'm new to this type of software and so far am not having alot of fun trying to get it to work properly.
I purchased EMC8 after I was unable to burn recorded TV to DVD for use in my DVD players. EMC worked OK the first three times and then I made the mistake of removing PowerDVD as I did not need it anymore (EMC8 had that covered). Now Everytime I try to burn recorded TV to DVD the audio is out of sync from the video by about 2 seconds. I've tried reinstalling PowerDVD, and all other software is shut down before burning. The TV is recorded in dvr-ms this file is in sync, and the converted mpg file is in sync, but the dvd is always out. Anyone with any suggestions?

VideoWave/MyDVD Projects using DVR-MS files out of sync

The information in this article applies to:
Easy Media Creator 8

Applicable Operating Systems:
Windows 2000 Professional
Windows XP Home / Pro / Media Center
Windows XP Professional x64 Edition

Issue:
When using DVR-MS files in a VideoWave or MyDVD, it is possible that the finished project is out of sync.  That means the audio may be slightly ahead or behind the video that is shown.

Solution:
Please close any running instances of VideoWave or MyDVD and then download and install the following hotfix:

http://tools.roxio.c...vrms_hotfix.exe

Once the installation is complete you should be able to open your saved project and produce (VideoWave) or burn to disc (MyDVD) without experiencing this problem.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I tried it and no luck, I even tried going back to the dvr-ms file and converting it again to mpg then burning still no luck. I also confirmed that my DVD writer driver is up to date. I still have a two second lag on the dvd but not on the dvr-ms file or the mpg file.

Any other suggestions?

A lot depends on your computer.  You have neglected posting any information on it so it is difficult to tell if yours is a problem or not.  As you know, video work takes a lot of CPU energy.  Make sure you are disconnected from the internet, have shut down any programs that you do not need to have running (anti-virus, anti-malware, etc.).  Defrag your hard drive and reboot to clear your memory.  Set you computer performance to best using Windows.  Do not use your computer to read mail or play games duiing the processing.

Do the burn in two steps, burn the file to an iso (image) file and then copy that file to your disc.   Some people have reported that converting the file to an AVI rather than mpg has cured some out of sync problems.

Post back what worked for you.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
