Hi, I used EMC9 to capture video from my camcorder. I saw it capturing each scene and numbering them. After the capture I went into VW to make a slideshow with photos and scenes from the video but when I open the video in media selector it was just 1 total video with the whole thing together. How do I select just certain scenes from the video and when i do put a scene in my production can I shorten or just take a piece of the scene?

Thanks in advance!

Open Video Wave and then select add photo/video. When the window opens, look to the top left and choose "My Media". Search for the video file. If scenes were detected, there should be a little broken down arrow next to the play arrow. Click on that and another window will open with the individual scenes. Just use those in your production.

IF you don't have the down arrow, the individual scenes may not be available but you can redo them. While you are in My Media, right click on the video and select scene detection. You can detect scenes manually or automatically. Then proceed as above.

Watch the appropriate video to see how to cut out sections of a video.

Ok Thanks , got that far but when I put selected scenes in the panel they are only 1 second long, not the full lenght of the video clip wink.gif

Are you using smart scan or capturing manually? Others have posted a similar problem, but I haven't been able to reproduce it. I have an older Sony TRV740 8mm camcorder.

Is the camcorder connected via firewire and you are capturing using Media Import 9?

firewire, and 1 thing I noticed with EMC7 it asked me if I wanted to use "smart scan" but I didnt see in EMC9 where I had the option when I imported it. Still trying to get used to EMC( from 7.
