This is very basic, as I am new to video editing. EMC-9 runs very slow when I'm editing a large 13GB file downloaded from my video camera. All different editing functions are slow, using the hard drive a lot. I have a Dell Dimension 9100 with 1GB memory. Would increasing the system memory to 3GB help? Is the video file size too big to work with efficiently? Thanks for any suggestions.

Adding memory most likely wouldn't help much. It's really best to capture to smaller files IF you are doing much editing. Also do you have 'Watched Folders' turned on? This will really slow things down. Open Media Manager and turn that off. I think it's under TOOLS / Stop Watching Folders. That turns it off until you turn it back on.
