I look at the ABOUT window and I see no version.

What I do see is as follows:

VideoWaveMovie Creator 1 , 6 , 676 , 1 ENG for Microsoft Windows
Copyright 2000 - 2002 Roxio Inc. All rights reserved
Patent 6 , 204 , 848 JP3071755 unsure.gif

Would it be version 1.6.676.1 ?

Is there an upgrade?  I see something about 1.6.696.2  but you must be upgrading from build 1.5.545.0

Will the upgrade work for my version?

That is the version, and as far as I know, you're using the latest version of Movie Creator.

Movie Creator is actually a version of VideoWave 5.   The latest version of VW is 8.

Thanks for the reply.  Would you know why my transitions don't work properly?  After I insert a few, the whole pgm freezes and I have to use Task mgr to close/end program, then restart again.

If you'll post your computer specifications, that might help me to spot a problem.

You might want to make certain that you've got any updates installed for your video card.  Also, do a File\ Save frequently.
