It's a media issue. What media are you using? I suggest Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

Is there updated firmware for your drive?

This is one of the reasons I do the compression and the burning as two separate steps. Choose Save as Disc Image to have Popcorn compress the video to fit a single-layer disc. Then select the disc image using the Image File setting to burn the disc. This sometimes prevents disc-burning errors as well. But even if this is a media issue at least you don't have to wait for the compression to be completed again when attempting to burn to a different brand of media.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

I happened to have a couple maxell dvd's leftover from a previous purchase. White backed ones for labeling.
And it seems to be working. Keeping fingers crossed. I also went thru the process as u described and so far so good.
thx
i will report back after done to let u know if it completed the burn and how it looked if it does complete task.

This is why I suggest good quality media that is more consistent from one disc to another in the same spindle and from one spindle to another.
