You did not say what Operating System you have. If it is Vista, then consider yourself lucky that the apps just refuse to run. Lots of users have more severe problems. There are several here with no problems, but I believe that is not the norm. They will suggest you install several times. Eventually it may work for you. Did you run Norton OBC (One Button Checkup) and let it fix things by itself?

There have also been reports McAffee has a similar problem.
