Just purchased and installed DVDit Pro HD and it starts up fine.
But as soon as I place any video media on the timeline I get the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error.
All media is proper mpeg 2 video for DVD authoring.
Please help.
Thanks.

when the runtime error pops up, do you get a Micosoft "send us info" box? If you do, can you click on the "more information about what will be sent to us" link. The box that subsequently pops up should tell you where the error is. Paste a picture of it here so we can see what is going on.

This sounds just like the error that I get on one of my windows installations with DVDit Pro HD. I also have Nero 7 installed.

Just to clarify, my runtime error problem, the following is one of my posts reporting the problem - which has not been resolved.

"My problem is when I drag the Mpeg2 media from the Palette to the title menu in the project window, I get the following error "Parameter is invalid -19007" if I then ok that the box comes back again, if I ok that I then get "Runtime error c:\program files\roxio\dvdit pro hd\roxio dvdit pro hd.exe", I ok that then I get "c:\program files\roxio\dvdit pro hd\roxio dvdit pro hd.exe R6025 -pure-virtual function call please contact support" . Ok that and thats it the whole program dissapears. My Mpeg files are legal as I can get DVDit Pro HD to work in a fresh windows installation.

I have Windows XP home with all up to date fixes, the latest Quicktime, Internet explorer 7 and media player 10 installed I have a pentium D 3.4GHz, 2GB ram. The Blu-ray drive is a Sony BWU-100A, also I have a second Sony DVD burner.

I have been through the cleanup proceedure and reinstalled the latest beta, but no change. Does anyone know what maybe causing the conflict?"

well, you both have Nero 7. that could be it. I was able to solve one of these issues earlier this week by going deeper into Microsoft error report. click on the "more information about what will be sent to Microsoft" link and at the top of that warning it will hopefully tell you where the error occurred.

I can report that it isn't Nero 7 as I have unistalled it and still DVDit Pro HD will not run.

I just did a full restore of my computer with just the os, Martrox RT.X2 drivers and Adobe Production Studio Premium CS2. No more Nero. Yet still the same Runtime Error with no report. I brought my Mpeg2 files over to a friends edit suite and they worked and Look Great! Way better than the crummy jagged look of Encore3 BlueRay Encoding!

I also think the quality of the Blu-Ray disk created by DVDit Pro HD is good. My problem is that I can only get the program to work error free on a new windows installation (on the same PC that errors on the main installation). I just don't know how to find the conflicting software. I do not have a Matrox card or Adobe Production studio. I am wondering if its the drivers for my TV card which is a Medion SAA7131 (which are not loaded in the installation that works). I need to keep this as I use it for capturing HD video from satelite.

I am running Vista - DVDit-HD ran great until today - getting "runtime error". I have not seen the "report to Microsoft" - erased the program and re-installed 3 x - getting same error message. I did download an upgrade to a Cyberlink DVD Director program today - suggestions?

Hi All -

It's been a awhile since I have done trouble shooting on Matrox/DVdit systems, but I do have some suggestions for trouble shooting this:

1) Disable the "WYSIWYG" option in the XTools Icon. This is an old trick going back to DVDit 2.x, but maybe worth a shot.

2) There's actually a process that's recommended by Matrox for installing annd reinstalling if there is an update or change in your Matrox/DVDit system:

Uninstall:

a) Premiere
cool.gif Matrox Video Tools
c) DVDit!
d) Add/Remove Hardware

Then install:

a) Premiere
cool.gif Matrox Tools 3.1b
c) Hardware
d) DVDit!

I know step two looks to be a real pain blink.gif , but other than going through the specs of your files + your Matrox system, it is something to think about.

Let me know if you tried either steps and if they worked. You may want to set a restore point and back up your registry before trying step 2 for safety. If it does work, I'll turn it into a KB article.

Jon

Wiped it clean many times - ran the Windows clean up - went back to the date I know it was good - same run time error message - only way around it is to log out and relog on -with very few programs in the new log on - that's a pain

Hi cvhjr -

Sorry for the wait.

I totally understand what a pain it is. I wish I had a magic bullet for this issue.

This maybe a long shot, but are you doing this as the administrator of the computer? We have seen this kind of funkiness attributed to administrative privileges on the machine. Even if the account you are using has administrative privileges, you may want to consider doing the uninstall/install scenario using the original Admin account or creating a new admin account just for video capture and editing.

Also, that install/uninstall scenario I posted is from Matrox themselves and crucial. Apparently the Adobe, Matrox, Sonic balance is very sensitive with all the codecs floating around.

Jon

DVDit Pro HD:

Installed it, found it very slow and not very professional to use, after 15mins it crashed, hung the computer, did a re-start, tried to run program again and it would not open again, came up with a c++ runtime error, uninstalled the program, did a complete registry cleanup etc, re-installed DVDit pro HD, still would not open, came up with the same error.

I paid £326.06 for this software from dvc.uk.com / it ran very badly for 15mins and then failed to open. I make films for Sky the BBC and so on, computer wise I have the top of the range in all ways PC & MAC.

I have been looking at Q&A on your website and seems to me this is a common fault that has not be resolved / this is no good to me.
For these reasons above I would like you to show your commitment to you customer service and contact me or Jonathan Fisher at dvc.uk.com, to offer me my money back on this item / as far as I am concerned this software is not fit for purpose and will not do what it said on the packet. I await your reply. Kind regards Lexx

I'd give dvc.uk.com a try; you bought it from them, yes?

Well, I like you initially thought about getting a refund as the problems I had initially were very frustrating. run time errors, poor calculation of disc size for 50gb discs..etc..etc..
however at last I do seem to be getting there with it and as ive said before IMHO the user interface is really good compared to other software..I just find it easy to do what i want unlike some software that seems to put hurdles in your way.
I suppose all software has issues.(pcs are made up from thousands of different brands of hardware/drivers).look at sony forums,,adobe forums and you will see people with issues but to say dvdit doesnt do what it says is wrong.
The lack of updates is annoying.. free updates would be helpfull and a simple email from roxio to its reg users offering a patch/update/upgrade would be nice.
If dvdit will not load then there is a problem with your pc..software/hardware
cheers john
