Hi,

I'm trying to copy a DVD with Roxio Media Creator 9 on Windows XP Pro.

It reads the disk OK, but when I put in the blank DVD, I get the following error:

"Unknown error." [0x00000001]
ULONG: Error Number = 00000001
STRING: Error String = Unknown error.

I've tried several different disks, but always get the same error.

Please can someone suggest what I can do to correct this problem?

Thank you.

Are you copying from 1 drive to the other or is the dvd file on the hard drive and being copied to the burner? It sounds to me to be it might be the discs.  Did you try other brands as well.
Other things to make sure of is to keep your hard drive defragged.

Hi Beerman,

Thanks for the advice. I tried again yesterday and it worked so I'm not sure what was wrong with it before. I'm using the same discs. Do you think it could be caused by having too many processes running?

Thanks again,
Anthony
