I have an external, USB 2.0 drive and I'm trying to burn DVD backups. It's FAT32 formatted. I'm running the 7.1.2 version. When I try to burn a DVD, a window that I've never seen before pops-up saying:
VERIFICATION RESULTS
Some files cannot be accessed and will be removed
I have no idea what to do. Any ideas?

I don't know what you added to Toast that couldn't be accessed. It probably isn't important. My guess is if you checked the number of files in each folder in the Toast window they'd show the same total as reported in the Finder. so nothing that matters to you is removed.
Alternatively it may work better for you to use Deja Vu (likely added to your System Preferences window when installing Toast) to prepare your backups for burning to DVD.

I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Actually, the files it decided to remove from the burn were significant. It's a media drive containing every mp3, aif, wmv, mov, etc. file I have, including various multimedia projects. It's saying it can't access files, but I see no consistency. This has never happened before. The drive is so large, that I wanted to create a directory of burn projects (.disc files) to keep the backups organized. However, there was some error due to the Intel processor according to the FAQ section, so I upgraded to 7.1.2 and now I can't burn these disks.

Toast's .disc files will lose track of listed files if they are moved or modified. As a result I rarely save a Toast project unless the files only point to something in the Roxio Converted Items folder (which I only delete manually). The .disc files are pretty useless to me otherwise.
There are excellent low-cost drive catalog programs that may be suited for your needs. One that is bundled with Toast 8 is Disk Catalog Maker RE. They developer also sells a full version.
Since these are multimedia files you also might look at Microsoft's Expression Media. It's from an application originally written for Macs so it is well designed.

I've used saved projects in Toast before without a problem. I'm doing nothing different. Files are not moving. I'll just uninstall 7.1.2 and reinstall 7.0 and keep track manually, rather than purchase another "solution" from Micro$oft.
