Compaq Presario Vista Basic purchased end of February. Did the burn thing for recovery cds using this software. Haven't used it since.
I had made a QL icon for this. Hit the icon yesterday...but nothing happens - no software showing up on desktop, etc.
I did a search for all Roxio data...different folders, etc...but nothing that states '.exe.' or the software itself.
It is listed in the Programs section in Control Panel - Programs, but no data given...just if you want to uninstall it.
What do I do now?
No software cds of any kind was with the computer when I bought it.
Please help. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure exactly where it is on the Compaqs, but with HP there is a software restore option. Check your Start menu. Something like:
Start>Programs>Compaq Help>PC Help & Tools
There should be something there call Compaq Application Recovery. Try that.

Thanks...I ended up doing an onl;ine chat with HP Tech...who helped me do this re-install...using that Recovery Manager. biggrin.gif
All is well. Tried doing the same thing with MS Works 8.5...but that didn't work at all. Guess I have to find a free program for word processor/spreadsheet...and only that function (my dvd collection in ABC order) rolleyes.gif
Thanks for your help.

You can get a free Office suite (Open Office.org) from here

The reason it's called that is it was originally Open Office but the name was registered to somebody else, so they stuck the .org on the end. Basically, it's tyhe same as Sun Star Office (in fact, Star Office was developed from it)
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
