now it is an iso file

I have downloaded an avi file and somehow transferred it to an iso on my dvd and it will not play in my dvd player for my tv.  What ever have I done wrong angry.gif

You need to burn that .ISO file to a DVD, using Disc Copier.  You don't copy it as a data file.

BTW, how did you "somehow transferred it to an iso"?

it seems also that I cannot use dvd-rw is that true or can I only use dve+rw?

I have it as an avi I used roxio creator 9 >>>create a dvd and saved as an image.  Heck I dunno.  What is the easiest way to take a downloaded avi and put it to DVD so I can put it in my TV DVD player?<<<simple please

Read what the hell is being told to you!  Spoon feeding is fine, but you have to eat.  Burn that image (ISO) file, to a DVD, using Disc Copier.

It should work.  If it doesn't, you had a bad burn.

I am burning the image to a dvd as we speak it has about an 1hour to go.  Meanwhile I thank you for the help and we will see what happens.

In the future is there an easier way to go from AVI to dvd or no.

Are you burning it to a DVD, using Disc Copier?  If you are, and it says you have an hour to go, you have something wrong with your system, or you DVD burner.  It shouldn't take more than 10 to 15 minutes.

well in my defense it was microsoft time  smile.gif   but now it is down to 12 minutes.
