I don't fully understand the difference between creating a DVD movie using either My DVD or Video Wave. Both allow for inserting both still images and movies. Both allow for all sorts of media, sound tracks and the like. Both allow for editing of images, sound and movies.

What don't I understand about what seems to be alike programs?

You are understanding okay, but it is still best to build your production in VideoWave, then author and burn it in MyDVD.
