First off let me say... I hate Roxio. I hate everything about Roxio. Now that Sonic owns them, I hope they get back to making software that's at least halfway tolerable. The sad part is that no matter how much Roxio sucks, it's the best piece of crap compared to all the other crap. That's still no reason to put out crap. Having said that... can anyone tell me why, when I make a cd using "Music Disc Creator" there's a clicking between the songs that wasn't there in the preview? Also... why doesn't the preview let you listen to gaps added between songs like it kind of does with cross fading? Also... why does the preview cut the last 2 seconds off every song? Also... why can't you listen to just one song in the preview? When the time counter resets to zero while the song is still playing and then it goes into the next song it isn't always clear where one song ends and the next one starts. I shouldn't have to go into the editor every time I want to hear how a song ends. Man I hate Roxio. Maybe they could release a patch so I can use Easy CD Creator 5 with XP SP2.

Can't help you with the clicking, but that is one of the best not nice/nice rants I have seen on any boards.
Some folks have got ECDC 5 to work with XP SP2. I hope that they drop in and can help you.

ECD5 isn't actually a patch, but a way to install it on SP2

Thanks for your kind words, but it isn't a rant if it's true.
What I would love to see would be a program with the stability, predictability and editing of ECDC 5, the ripping and copying ability of EMC 7.5 and the music id and massive file support of EMC 9. Of course that will never happen. If you give the people what they want, they wouldn't buy anymore of your products in hopes that the new one doesn't suck. There's no profit in quality.

No it is a rant…
It does everything I need and the same holds true for most.
If all you are doing is playing with sound are there not many more packages that are specifically aimed at sound you should be using?
Not trying to pick on you, but you are a minority user and the software is built to appeal to a much broader user base.

It always amazes me how many people say "it does what I want so the problem must be you." Maybe you should search through the forums here and count all the "I love Roxio" threads on your fingers. Yes, you can keep one hand behind your back.

If by "playing with sound" you mean "trying to burn a cd and praying to whatever pagan god you believe in that it doesn't come out like crap" then, yes.
Not trying to pick on you, but you are a minority user and the software is built to appeal to a much broader user base.
If by "minority user" you mean "someone trying to use the software in a manner for which it was designed only to have his/hers prayers go unanswered as they once again have an opportunity to add to the "free coaster" pile compliments of Roxio" then, yes. Again... read the forums.

Do you really think that all the folks who use the program, with no problems at all, are going to come here and post?
If you do, I have some swampland to sell you.

I do primarily audio myself, and don't get any extra clicks between songs. So lets start by finding out what part of EMC 9 you're using to write your discs, are you starting with EMC Home, then starting an Audio CD project there, or are you going through the "Start -> Programs -> EMC 9 -> Audio -> Music Disc Creator" route? The two applications do behave somewhat differently. Also, what is the source of your music, audio you've captured through your sound card, music you've purchased and downloaded, or tracks you've ripped from CD? And what format are they in, .WAV, .WMA, or .MP3?
Get us those details, and maybe we can isolate the problem that may be causing your clicks.
I use Music Disc Creator, and haven't had any problems like you're offering up for our consideration.
And there's nothing to say that a rant can't be true. I could rant about the weather and never lie one syllable. Ranting is merely complaining loudly, and you can easily complain about items that are real and true.
