Hello...

As I wrote in another topic, the OEM EMC 9 I've got with my new (two weeks old) HP Vista HOme Premium laptop had a bit limitation - did not have Disc copier so you cannot burn VIDEO_TS folder from your hard drive.

Today I seemed to discover another two (for me severe) limitations and I'd like to ask, whether I'm doing something wrong, or those functions are really disabled.

1. to create DVD with no menu. Just pop the disc in player and play home made movie. -
In file - new project in MyDVD there are only 3 choices - DVD, VCD, SVCD and the DVD selection opens menu always, which as a root menu cannot be deleted. After I open such a new project, then if I look back to the menu File - new - there are now more choices including "No Menu DVD" - Unfortunatelly all these choices are disabled - aka unclickable. Is it my error or is that disabled in OEM version?

2. to move the menu button - in the particular style - although written in help file "Move menu buttons - click on them an drag them where you want them" - it does not work. If I click on menu button, the only thing I can do is to change the text of the button. nothing else. If I click on the red frame, I can just resize it horizontally. Again, nothnig else, no move. Is there a help appart from deleting EMC out of total frustration?

Actually, I was unsuccesfully looking for another thing - does EMC have the option to set the menu as timed and then enforce a particular menu button even if no one press one? Such a function is in DVD Lab Pro and I love it. The only think is, that when I create the movie in DVD Lab Pro, I end up with VIDEO_TS folder, which I'm unable to burn as I mentioned above....

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know, who choose which functioons will the OEM version have disabled? I'd like to know at whom I should address my anger and the feeling of being cheated - HP as a computer manufacturer, or Roxio as a software provider?

Thanks a lot, hope you've had better day than myself.

John

It looks like you got bit by the OEM.  You have the option of buying the full version of EMC 9.1, or waiting awhile and getting EMC 10.

Whoever you got the OEM from, is the one who decided what features they want in EMC 9.

So, HP are the bastards... Thanks, at least I know, whom to curse to the hell and twice beyond...
It is simple with me - I do not have $80 +- for full version. End of story.
Gotta wait when there is more freeware utilities available from Vista as they were for the prev. Windows.

Have a nice day...
