First post in the EMC10 forum, woot!!!

So, is anyone going to step up to EMC10 or wait and see what happens to EMC9.X?

This will be the first Adaptec/Roxio upgrade I have no intention of buying.

I am still stuck with EMC9 that Roxio have been unable to provide a patch for and unwilling to provide EMC9.1 vesions to those that bought EMC9.

They should get EMC9 working before launching EMC10.

Well, those are the boxed versions. If I remember correct EMC9 download was available from Roxio much earlier than the boxed versions in the shops. I would not be surprised if the downloadable EMC10 will become available via Roxio's webshop soon.

I thought 9.1 would be out yesterday since 10 was due to come out today but as of the time of this post, I don't see v10 shown online yet.
Since I spend too much time on the forum, I'll try EMC10.

While neither looks good, I tried to apply common sense (a lost art form) and thought it would make better sense to put out 9.1 before 10 (not the day before of course) but as neither has happened yet, I'm giving up on guessing.  It's kind of hard to ask people to purchase v10 when many are still having problems with v9 which I'm sure 9.1 will fix.

Are you going to try it on Vista or XP?  An evaluation based on XP would not be much of a value to me.  Having felt the pain of version 9,  I shall wait and read the forums about 10 for a long time before making that move.  I uninstalled version 9 and am using  different software to get the job done, but would return to EMC if they can get a stable version for Vista.

I'll wait until the price drops and then see how many complaints surface. 9.1 is working reasonably well for what I used of it but still there are many bugs.  I am not holding my breath on a 9.1 patch which is why I will stretch out the use of this product.  Who knows, I may wait until version 11 or 12 or 13. biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

If the 9.1 had any bugs in it then the patch should apply. Otherwise how do you get those bugs out---(That's assuming they actually were fixed). Maybe go to EMC 10 ??? But no one will know for sure till 9.1 update comes out, huh ?

On the other hand, having purged Vista from my new laptop and installed XP instead, I'd be very interested in an XP based evaluation to tell me if EMC10 concentrated more on being Vistarrific than actually improving the product.  rolleyes.gif

I got an e-mail that links to the download. I didn't follow it all they way through but it looks like it works.

If you are actually interested in purchasing this version, I would stay away from a retail boxed version. Buy it directly from Roxio in the unthinkable event it turns out to be a dog and you want your money back within the 30 day guarantee.

Most retailers will not refund your money for software especially if opened.
