So you guys decided to call the much needed EMC9 software update “Roxio EMC 10” and SELL IT? You will lose customers’ fidelity by abusing of them – we don’t all have $100 to dish out every 6 months. Especially when we have spent 5 of those 6 months trying to get the HUGE number of bugs resolved in Roxio 9. Have you guys seen your own message boards? We have all been waiting for the promised software update for Roxio 9. And there's not even a proper rebate for users of Roxio 9? What if I had bought the software last week? It's still on the shelves in some places!

I can't see how you can make that assumption seeing NOBODY has seen EMC 10 yet laugh.gif

There probably will be a patch for 9.0 to bring it to 9.1 - when? Sorry, I mislaid my crystal ball wink.gif
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

It has been almost exactly a year since EMC 9 was released. Just because there is a new version doesn't mean it will solve any problems.  I usually skip a version with most of my software and then only if I see NEW FEATURES I feel that I could really use.

How do you know EMC 10 is only an update for EMC 9?

Also, I don't know one message board from a software company that's not full of posts with issues of the software. I thought that's the purpose of the message board, for users to discuss their issues and help each other. Did I get that idea wrong?

I think it's poor planning also to put out a new version before the long overdue update for 9.1 comes out. I still expect there to be an update to 9.1, so I'm guessing that 10 is a new version, not the 9 update we've all been waiting for.

Price wise, on my 9 home page this morning, I have a link to upgrade to 10 which takes me to a page listing it for 69.99 (after 30.00 instant savings). Looks like it's not a rebate involved discount. That at least would be good.

That happened to me, but I bought it last week directly from Roxio, not off a store shelf. They emailed me a great offer for 50% off on the upgrade. The offer expired last week though so I took it before it expired. Then, poof, this week version 10 comes out.  This is just plain rude to push a customer (email every day) to purchase software one week, when you know it will be obsolete in less than a week. Roxio should have have just offered me a reasonable discount to upgrade to 10 this week.

I actually expected that this might happen. They did it to me with a previous upgrade too.

Peace,
JG

Maybe there will actually be updates for EMC10.....in a year?

Interesting timing.

When in doubt, reinstall.
If it installs, it's supported.

This move by Roxio/Sonic to release EMC 10 before a 9.x patch is going to tick off a lot of customers and make the company look bad. To remedy the situation, they should offer a public apology and recall all EMC9 products in exchange for a deep discount on EMC10. That's just wishful thinking on my part

I'm pretty irritated myself.  I upgraded to version 9 about a month ago after using several previous versions.  I keep thinking they're going to get it right, but they never do!  Maybe I'm just as stupid; kick me once...

They definetely should have come out with an upgrade to 9.0 before releasing 10.  That was a kick in the butt when I opened my email this morning to find an offer for version 10, then rushing to the website hoping to find an update to version 9.  What was I thinking?  angry.gif

I too bought EMC 9 Deluxe directly from Roxio last week.  The sales guy on the phone said nothing about 10 coming out in a matter of days.  I have received the offer to upgrade to a 10 Suite.
My question is- can I upgrade from 9 Deluxe to a 10 Suite?  There is no mention of a 10 Deluxe upgrade.
