I'm looking forward to hear the user experience in Vista with EMC10.

When in doubt, reinstall.
If it installs, it's supported.

I didnt think we needed a separate forum. I only created a separate Vista forum for EMC 9 because of the volume of questions and the fact that Vista came out 1/2 way through the product's life-cycle which caused some frustration and unexpected problems for both us and the users.

As a tester of 10 with a very limited space of time, I had no troubles at all with installation on both XP and Vista. I spent 75% of the time testing in Vista only with no installation or activation problems. I did this with a uninstall of v9 which was working fine on Vista. However, others tested with v9 previously installed and they both worked fine together.
As far as opinions of what it offers vs. previous versions, that's a persona opinion that only you can answer. I am waiting for v10 to be released to install as the version I tested was not the final version.
You'll have to wait a while until enough users have worked with it to get an idea of how they feel about it.

Does EMC 10 perform better and/or have fewer glitches than EMC 9 in Vista? I have gotten EMC 9 to work fairly well in Vista but encoding is very slow and I keep having strange problems that require reboots (e.g. every time I burn a DVD the system refuses to recognize the DVD drive again till I reboot).
If EMC 10 has better performance and fewer Vista compatibility problems then it might be worth an upgrade.

I'll pretty much have to ehco what Neil has suggested. I have installed it on XP/SP2 and also on Vista Home Premium and have tested both for Video Transfer, Videowave productions, Sound Editor, MyDVD burning and Creator Classic several times now and have had no problems. I suggest that a lot will depend on the exact hardware and other software that one has on their computer. No problems beta testing the new program as far as I'm concerned.
I like my Vista side of my dual boot however. But maybe that because I am starting to get used to it and learning my way around a well as I have on XP.
It could be my imagination but I tend to think that Vista is faster with most of the programs.

Just reading this post especially about the loading on Vista Home Premium. I tried all of the things suggested when I purchased EMC10 to use with Vista and I could never get it to load. I was fianally so exhausted that I just reloaded what came with the computer from Roxio. What did you do for such an easy install to Vista and how can I do it. I really purchased it for that laptop and I have ended up using it on this laptop with the XP. I would appreciate knowing exactly what you did.

I also workd for a short while on the Beta and tested it in XP Pro 32, XP Pro 64 and Vista Ultimate with no problems at all.
Mikhail - slowness in rendering is common. On my previous machine with an Athlon 64 3200 and 2 GB of Dual Channel RAM, I reckoned it took as long as the duration of a movie to render. It's down to the fact that the process is very CPU intensive and also utilises the graphics processor. This one is faster but that's down to the huge Level 2 cache (4 MB of it as opposed to 512 KB on the Athlon)

Yer mine to gi7omy, i have a AMD X2 6000+ and it is a bit slow on render over my Dulecore intel at the office.
Putting it in plain words... CPU and RAM and Grafics cards are the make or break in video render (no matter what video product you use)
