I have a MYDVD file large enough to create a DVD Movie over 4 gigs (61 minutes) long. Every time I open this file, it takes approximately 15 minutes to load. It seems excessive. Is it a reasonable amount of time?
If I attempt anything while the hard drive is still running, my machine locks up. My computer has 2.3 MHZ speed, 80 gigs HD, and 768 mgs of RAM.

There has to be something else going on.  MyDVD .dmsd files do NOT contain any video or images.  It's a list of things to be done for the final output so it should be rather small.
Check to see if Watched Folders is turned on.
How much free space on the HD?
Make sure the HD is defragmented especially important with smaller hard drives.
