I followed the clean install instructions so I may reinstall EMC9. I get as far as deleting the folders then I get a message sayingt that I need permission to delete the folders. So I logged on as the Admin and got the same message how do I get around that so I may continuse the clean install process?

Your folders are probably marked read only.  You could go to the RUN prompt and issue a DOS delete dir comand. Or, the long way would be to delete out the contents of each folder and then delete it.

Tyr dragging the folders to the desktop and then reboot.

You should then be able to delete the folders from the desktop.

You'd probably need to do the right click and 'move' option for that - but as move also deletes the original folders, the same problem will probably occur.

Just dragging the folders will, in all probability, just make a copy and leave the original problematic ones in situ

Sometimes booting into safe mode will let you reset the attributes and then let you delete (right click on the folder, clear the read only check box and close)

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
