I've read the last post of "John at Roxio" about 9.1 patch.
He says that the patch will only apply to "full retail versions" of EMC 9.
It means that it will not apply to ESD version?

Without a link to the actual post, your post is nothing more than a rumor…
I couldn't locate the post, but (another rumor?) I think he meant RETAIL as opposed to OEM.
Guess we will have to wait and see.

You can find the post here: http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=23888
I also think and hope a retail as opposed to OEM.
We will see.

OEM versions are out of luck.
If it installs, it's supported.

I agree!
OEM versions are out of luck.
Now that would be up to the OEM supplier, wouldn't it…
The smartest thing one can do with an OEM disc, is leave it unopened and place it in the trash!
You want support? Buy the Retail version!

Hah ! You have got to be kidding ! You don't seriously think that OEM's have any info on supporting 3rd party softwares do you ? Oh and I have both the OEM and retail versions and can tell you what the support is worth:

You just haven't looked around that much…
I have seen OEM software and hardware that a patch was issued but only to the OEM supplier.
Most recently it was V9 and Dell! They had the "DLA fix" for Vista for a month or more before it was released to public by Roxio.
A few years back, Dell came out with a firmware update for an OEM DVD burner they offered and it was never made available to the general public…
That is only 2 examples, but enough to show that your contention is wrong.
