I have no idea why the 'industry' decided to use VOB as an extension when the files are MPEG2. Glad that worked for you.

I've been capturing my home burned dvds to my hard drive by selecting each chapter in the capture function. This takes about an hour for an hours worth of video. If I drag and drop the dvd files (VOB), it takes about 5 minutes but I don't get the chapters when I play over my D-Link media server. Is this just how it works or is there an easier/quicker way to get the chapters copied to the hard driver? Thanks.

Chapters is not embedded in the VOB or MPEG file. Those are in the IFO files on a DVD. You would have to check in the DLink Media Server software to see if copies that info into its own format.

AHA. So If I find a supported media server softare (ie, Twonkyvision) that can handle IFO files, it should work? Thanks.
