Personal opinion only and not the answer you are hoping for but this is one good reason I never buy a program that is downloaded. I find it best to buy your programs on disk so you always have the original disk to use. Downloaded programs quite often cause problems when trying to move them or get updates for them. And it's usually a worse problem to determine which files (especially DLL files) to keep as so many programs use the same DLL's to run correctly.

My downloaded file is called RoxioEasyMediaCreator7.5ESD_ENU_Upgrade.exe. Windows reports it's 965,508KB in size. After running this file it expands into many files and folders. Among them is a Data1.cab file that's 838,275KB. If this size matches yours, then yes you need this file. But it's useless without the other expanded files.

Whenever I download software like this I immediately burn it to a CD or DVD for safekeeping.

The easy way would be to install the original copy of EMC 7 then see if you can redownload the upgrade from your laptop and apply it.

You can transfer all the production files easily but you might have to 'relink' them on your new computer because the location of the files may be different.

I think if you create the same path of the files from your old PC to your laptop, the production should be able to find the files without relinking. :)
