When I first installed Creator 9 and made demo a disk for my daughter, I was delighted to notice that the fades acted like movies, moving the the slide up or down before fading to the next slide.   Now that I have tried to create program from the pictures she gave me, I can't find that dissolve.

If you bring up the Transition selector (and select All to show all transitions available), there is a transition called Dissolve. However, from your description you must be talking about a 3D transition.

In Videowave, select Tools->Options. Which one is checked: Software or hardware? If you check Hardware, do you now see the transition you are looking for? Plese note by default, the app choses the rendering mode that your system is capable of. Software mode does not support 3D transitions.
