I have been tring to capture a video from a camcorder. When I capture the video the capture works fine until the video tape hits a fadeout pause then the capture stops because of loss of signal

By "fade out pause", are you referring to when you were taking the video with your camcorder and stopped it and then later started videoing again ?

Have you tried stopping the capture when it gets to that fade out point, saving that portion and then advancing the tape past the fade out and then starting another capture ?? I have two different mini tape camcorders and have taken some video shots and started and stopped the video at several points and then used my capture program using a Firewire cable (avi video file) and it has always continued to capture right through all the stop points on the original tape. Although in the captured video it has several differnt capture parts.
