Are you plugging a mp3 player or sim into the desk top control if so I think you will find that the signal will only be going to the speakers and does not go through the pc as you can use the speakers when pc is turned off. You will have to connest the source direct into your pc.

I am not plugging an mp3 player or a sim into the desktop control. These are USB speakers and are connected directly to the PC. I can get it to work on my other computer which has speakers plugged into the Sound card. Maybe it cannot use USB speakers.

I use a Dell USB speaker and can capture from it using Easy Audio Capture. What options do you have for Capture From?

No matter what anyone says you are not capturing from your speakers.Speakers are an output device and capturing is done from an input device. Most often you capture from your sound card. The only way you could capture the sound coming from your speakers is to use a mic to record the sound and then you'd really be using a mic input and not a speaker output. You can unplug your speakers and still capture.
My first question is what OS are you using,XP or Vista?
If it's Vista then that is the problem.Microsoft changed the way that Vista processes sound and most cards from before it are unable to give you the inputs you need to capture from. It's a Microsoft thing, not Roxio or your sound cards mfg.
If you're using XP then I'd think that either you've got your input setting wrong or things wired incorrectly.
2nd question is what are you trying to capture?A tape,a cd,streaming internet radio?Depending on what you're trying to capture depends on what the input has to be set to.You may not have the inputs available with this sound card.

I am running vista Ultimate. On my other machine I am also running vista ultimate but using an old pair of logitech speakers and it recognizes those and I can capture sound from there. It is also a brand new MOBO ASUS P5KC. I have updated all drivers and nothing. I am trying to capture audio from the net. I can do that with Freecorder but not roxio. I understand that Mr. Gates has changed the way audio is processed in Vista.

The difference in the 2 machines is the Sound Card. One can process and provide an input to capture from and the other can't.It has nothing to do with the speakers.Once again, you do not capture from your speakers. You might capture from the input that is being sent to the speakers ("What you hear","Wav"...etc) but not from the speakers themselves.
If you open Easy Audio Capture on both machines compare what the input setting is.I'll bet that whatever it is on the machine that works is not available as a choice on the other machine. If it is then change the machine that doesn't work to that setting.
