OK, it's quite complicated. I had a ton of troubles just getting EMC9 to install correctly. After install reboot the computer would not completely restart. I finally managed to get it to reboot correctly with a lot of help from roxio support. windows managed to load after I started with a "last known configuration" restart. From there I had "runtime errors" in which I disabled the startups with msconfig. At this point I cannot get some of the options to work in EMC9 to work properly. The ones that I have noticed so far are MyDVD, Capture, and Creator Classic.

Creator Classic opens but wont load the source data/information.

MyDVD and Capture won't load at all. When I click on either from EMC9 main screen the window flashes then stays the same and won't open.

Any ideas for me?

Thanks
Dallas

Best thing you can do is go out and buy a new HD.

Put it in your PC and do a format and fresh install of the OS.

Update the drivers.

Install V9.

All will work now.

Take your old drive and add it as a second drive. You can extract files from it as needed but you will have to install any other software that you want to have.

All you are doing is chasing your tail when the base problem is something with your OS.

Thanks for the reply.

I did manage to get everything to work now. I did a repair to the install and it seems to have cleared up the problem.

That is good!!!

But there is nothing better than a new shiny hard drive with a fresh install tucked away out of sight under the hood of your PC. Keep it in mind as a nearly painless way to clear up lots of little problems.

Ya I know. I actually just replaced the HD with a seagate 500G sata. I attempted to install my copy of XP on the drive to clean everything up and start fresh, but unfortunately I got a message saying my copy had reached the install limit, ie it had been installed too many times. So I just transfered my operating system to the new drive and I was off. I should probably buy a new copy of XP but haven't yet. I really don't want to move to Vista yet as everyone I know that has it hates it.

Thanks

Good sized drive! I didn't realize that there was a limit to the number of times that XP could be installed. I have installed mine at least a dozen times since I got it, the day it came out.

Ya I didn't either til this one. It may however be something with the fact that I got it from going to an online college. When I started classes they sent me it as well as office pro.
