When editing a movie into chapters, I can select still thumbnails for the chapter buttons on all but the first button.  The chapter editor shows the start of the movie as locked. Is there a way around this so that I can place a still thumb in the button.  I can use the motion buttons, but would like to be able to use still thumbs as well.
thanks

The chapter 1 button is locked to the beginning of the movie and that cannot be changed, so its still thumbnail shows the first frame of the movie.
You could trim the start of the movie so that it starts at the frame you want displayed in the Chapter 1 still thumbnail, but of course you would lose the bit you'd trimmed.

I just came across another possibility after reading another thread. You could add a still image ahead of your movie in Videowave, and then that would be the thumbnail shown in the chapter 1 button. That image could, of course be a captured frame from within your movie. You can adjust its duration to suit.

There is also another option.  Select the thumbnail and View/Settings.  Click the second tab and click Custom under Thumbnail.  You can then choose another video file or a still image like a JPG or PNG.  This should work with main menu buttons or chapter buttons.

Attachment is V10 but works the same in V9.
