Hi
We are wondering if the DVDit Pro HD is capable of handling Xlets?
At the very end we want to create a Java application (in any tool, not neccessary DVDit Pro HD),
get it on a blu ray disc, put the disc into a blu ray player and then have it executed in the player.
Our questions around DVDit Pro HD are the following.
1. Is DVDit Pro HD able to handle Xlets in a project ?
2. Is the "simulator" in the DVDit Pro HD able to execute (and show) xlets?
3. If DVDit Pro HD is not able to handle Xlet in a natrual way, is there a work around, like dropping the Xlet into the file system via a file handler etc?
4. To what extends can DVDit Pro HD simluate or access external resources like network and file storage areas (profile 2)?
We are at the moment just experimenting around Xlets so it is ok if it does not look profesional, for
example that the Xlet have to be started via a button menu etc.
Regards

You might have to use something like Scenarist/Blu-Print to get the Java simulation/coding done, it would be nice to have it in DVDit but I don't see that coming anytime soon.

Hi
Thanks for your answer however Blu-Print and Scenarist are tools in the range 5000€ to 10000€,
still somewhat expensive ^^.

Hi
Let us say that the development of the xlet is made in another tool and there exist a jad/jar file,
is DVDit then able to include the file into a blu ray project?
That is, even if DVDit can not simulate/coding xlets, it is possible to create a blu ray disc project
in the DVDit, add pitcures, sound, movies and the xlet stuff, tie the xlet to buttons etc. make
the disc and put it into a player (where the xlet is then executed) ?

theoretically this might be possible. not sure it it would be an HDMV implementation nor a Java implementation. DVDit Pro HD can burn a disc from a Blu-ray Volume. If you point to the folder that the volume is inside of, it will create a disc. so, you could include "out of mux" ROM material in that same folder and have it show up as a pop up menu. you would have to manually edit some of the tables in the volume to refer to the pop up.
Come on, you are all enthusiasts. Someone go do it and write up a tutorial...

Well, how do you manually edit tables? index.bdmv seems to be some binary format - and in DVDit it seems that is the menu building subsection where I only can link to other (existing) submenus? Is it possble to link to e.g. a jar file that I have imported then?
