gee.. that kinda sucks. Why would they do that? If I upgrade, all my previous project are now dead? I'd have to rebuild them all?

Finish the productions BEFORE you upgrade.

What about projects from Videowave 7?
DVDbuilder from EMC 7.5
I assume I will have to uninstall 7.5 before installing 10?
Thanks
Michael

No, you don't have to uninstall EMC 7.5, before installing EMC 10. I have EMC 7.5, 9, and 10 running on this computer, with no problems at all.

Because they do it every time they develop a new version. mad.gif Apparently they don't care about their customers.
I have hundreds of audio projects that are now useless and can never be opened unless I continue to have multiple versions and we all know how good that works.

Like you, I don't get it. Every software program I've owned always has backward compatibility except Roxio.

Really, you must have nothing else loaded to run all those versions. huh.gif

I can give you all kinds of examples even Microsoft that in the past didn't open previous versions. EXACTLY HOW MANY versions back should any company support? Be realistic. They can't support old formats forever. V7 was based on totally different program code and file format. EMC 10 should be able to open files from V 8 & 9 just fine with one exception when they dropped the audio project file completely between V8 & V9.

You responded to bcrandco, but I think that you meant to reply to me. Those 3 EMC are a "spit in the ocean" compared to what I have loaded on this computer. You would be surprised how a little computer maintenance can keep a computer running smoothly. wink.gif
